Hello Everyone!  My name is Veronica Hunt and I am very proud to be your new Principal here at Marion Earl Elementary School.  I was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio with my two older sisters and two younger brothers.  I graduated from Hiram College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Cleveland State University.  I taught in Shaker Heights, Ohio for 6 years before moving to Las Vegas and this will be my 19th year in CCSD, 25th year in education.  I have taught First and Third Grade, served as an Instructional Coach, and Assistant Principal.

I am married and have two sons- one is a sophomore in High School and the other is an 8th grader in Middle School.  We love watching and playing sports, especially Basketball.  We are huge Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians, and Ohio State Buckeye fans. We also love UNLV Basketball and The Vegas Golden Knights.  I am also a huge Hello Kitty Fan and my favorite color is pink.

In my free time, I love to lift weights, ride my bike, and take Commit and Zumba classes.

I am very excited to be here at M.E. with all of you and to work with such a wonderful staff.  I truly believe in the power of building that connection between home and school to support our kids in all facets of their lives.  I’m looking forward to us all working together to help our kids grow and enjoy learning every day!  I am very proud to be a part of the M.E. Family.

My name is Melissa Mingo and it is with great enthusiasm that I write this letter of introduction as the new Assistant Principal of Marion B. Earl  Elementary School. I am incredibly grateful and excited to join the Eagle Family! I look forward to working in partnership with Ms. V and the staff to continue the work of advocating for and providing all students and families with an  educational experience where values and diversity are celebrated.

I have been an educator for 11 years. Before becoming an administrator, I was a classroom teacher and reading strategist. I enjoy the challenges of education, working with teachers, parents, and students.

On a more personal note, my husband, Greg and I have three children, and two grandchildren. We enjoy spending time with family, watching classic movies, watching college football, and
traveling.

I am committed to working alongside Ms. V. - as we continue to provide leadership and build a structure of collaborative relationships in the school and community - so that ALL students
have a variety of opportunities to succeed!

I am so proud to be a part of the Marion Earl family and look forward to meeting all students and families this school year!
