Pearl Alamshaw

Hello!
My name is Pearl Alamshaw and my students call me Ms. Pearl. I teach the Primary Autism Class, K-2, here at Marion Earl. I started working here as a Teaching Assistant, and am beginning my fourth year as a licensed Teacher. I grew up in Canada and received my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Carleton University, in Ottawa. I also recently earned my Master’s Degree in Special Education with an endorsement in Autism, from UNLV. I have been married for 23 years and have two amazing sons who are now 18 and 19. Since getting married, I have lived and worked in three different states, as well as  in Canada. I have been working with neurodiverse children in various home and school settings for over 25 years. It is truly my passion! I learn as much from my students as they do from me. My belief as a teacher is to “Always Presume Competence”. I highly value working together with parents to help ensure that each and every child reaches his/her maximum potential.

Mrs. Cox has been a teacher in CCSD for 28 years. She is a proud native of Las Vegas,  CCSD schools, and is an alumni of UNLV. She loves challenging her GATE and TAGS students with creative STEAM projects and encourages them to always “think outside of the box.” She has two awesome sons, a wonderful husband, and a very spoiled white dog named Lucy. She loves coffee, reading, and teaching her students to be lifelong, curious, and kind learners. She is looking forward to a fantastic 21-22 school year of new learning experiences.

Kimberlee Hixon

Hello wonderful Earl families! I am Dr. Hixon. This will be my 26th year in education. I have taught everything from pre-K through 8th grade and even some college classes. You may have noticed that I do not go by “Miss” or “Mrs.” because I have earned my doctorate in Educational Leadership and Curriculum Instruction. Which just means I am well prepared to teach your kiddos =).  When I’m not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my husband and son traveling to beaches and amusement parks or playing with our three little dogs.
